Youth Outreach

For the 2026 Flurry Festival, Flurry’s Youth Development Volunteer Beverly Lazar Davis reached out to over 15 youth-serving agencies to offer free youth/chaperone tickets, and a total of 31 youth aged 5 to 20 and nine chaperones were able to attend. The Flurry Festival is thrilled to share this multi-cultural, age-integrated, educational music and dance experience with our community!

Thank you to the Stewart’s Holiday Match program for supporting youth participation at the Flurry!

Here are comments from a few of the folks who attended the 2026 Flurry through this program:

“I brought two of my children to the Flurry Festival 2026 with Hamilton Hill Arts Center.  Overall it was a good experience and the kids really enjoyed themselves. Thank you for putting on a fun event.”

“My children had an amazing time at Flurry Festival 2026. We traveled from Schenectady to Saratoga Springs by bus, and the trip was enjoyable. The kids especially loved the salsa and square dancing…Overall, the event was excellent. Thank you for a wonderful experience.”

“This past Flurry, young people especially enjoyed Reverend Robert Jones, who did a presentation on the birth of blues music and its evolution. Young people were so entranced by him, that they begged me to have him come and perform at our youth center in the future.

They also really enjoyed learning how to 2-step, contra dance, and attending the techno contra.

Several young people also always look forward to Sunday mornings for the “sweet Sunday stretch” (always an awesome yoga type of class offered Sunday mornings, and we love that).

Walking through Saratoga and visiting the shops and restaurants is also an awesome part of attending the Flurry Fest…We are so grateful to be able to attend opportunities like this, and look forward to future Flurrys!”
